Presentation of Plaques to Retired Police Officers
Plaques were given to four retired police officers in honor of their dedication and service to the Township and community. Special thanks went out to: Sgt. Samuel Comport, Officer Michael J. Thomas, Officer Barry Clifford and Lt. Albert Hribik for their many years of service.
Hiring of Police Officers
The Civil Service Commission presented the Board with the eligibility list for hiring police officers. This was a lengthy process that the Commission went through to provide the Township with the best officers for the positions, their efforts were truly appreciated. The Board offered conditional offers of employment to Patrolman Nathan Roy, Patrolman Christopher Shortley, Patrolman Troy Modrak, Patrolman Kevin Novak, and Patrolman Jason Gilotty.
Interviews for Board Openings
There were over 26 candidates that presented themselves to the Board in regards to the openings available for positions on numerous boards and commissions in the Township. Background check applications were given out, and they need to be completed and submitted to the Manager by January 11, 2019.
Vested Interest in K-9
New bullet and stab proof vest for K-9 Jimmy. Special thanks to the organization that donates K-9 vests to police departments. The vest is sponsored by Pink Biscuit of Santa Paula, CA. This will be our third consecutive vest received through Vested Interest.
Deer Management Survey
The results are in from the Deer Management Survey. There was a good response from the 1500 random surveys that went out, 575 residents responded. The Board established a Deer Committee to determine the next steps in dealing with this issue.
