Citizen of the Year Nominations


The Durachko-Gottfried Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually to a Ross Township individual, or a group of individuals, who has made a meaningful and significant impact on our community. Recipients have demonstrated a commitment to having made considerable, noteworthy, and long-lasting contributions to the lives of our residents and their families through the same selfless and caring manner displayed by the remarkable citizens for whom this award is named.

Police Department 100-Year Anniversary

Police 100 Year Anniversary

In May, Board President Daniel DeMarco presented a plaque to the Ross Township Police Department honoring their 100-year anniversary. The Ross Township Police Department was formed on May 29, 1922 with the hiring of one police officer. 

Thank you to every officer who has served and kept our community safe!

All meetings will be held in-person in the Board Room. However, the Board of Commissioners have decided to keep offering Zoom as an option for residents to participate virtually in Township meetings.

Chief Vernon Moses Memorial Highway

Chief Moses Memorial Highway

A section of Route 19 between Ivory Avenue and Cemetery Lane is now named the Chief Vernon Moses Memorial Highway. Chief Moses was killed in the line of duty on May 3, 1932.
