Leaf Bag Collection

About the Program

The Township offers leaf bag collection two times a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.

The Spring collection takes place the first two weeks in April. The Fall collection starts in mid-October and runs through the end of November.

What Can I Put in the Bag?

- Dry leaves
- Small twigs
- Dead plants

Do NOT place tree branches in the bag.

Larger branches can be collected during Monthly Limb Collection.

Do I Need to Schedule a Collection?

NO - Leaf bags should be placed out with your weekly refuse during the Spring and Fall collection dates. Public Works will collect leaf bags throughout the entire Township. 

What Kind of Bag Can I Use?

Only brown paper recycling bags will be collected.

Where Can I Get These Bags?

In the Fall, Township residents 65 and older are eligible to receive 5 free leaf bags. Residents need to show proof of residency and proof of age to confirm eligibility.

Leaf bags are also available, to all residents, for purchase:
5 Bags for $2.50. 

Bags can be purchased Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 3:30 PM at the Township Municipal Building. Please call 412-931-7055 to make sure bags are available!

Residents may also purchase and use their own brown paper recycling bags.
